The Greatest Video Ever Made

In a collaborative effort, Matt Cronin and Ryan Boye will do a dramatic undertaking of epic proportions. Aiming to be the SINGLE GREATEST (as in, better than the second greastest) VIDEO EVER MADE… this video will be a comedic documentary about the lives and stories of people living in the post-apocalyptic zombie land of Boston Massachusetts. This project is inspired by the post-apocalyptic zombie tales told in movies such 28 Days Later, Dawn of the Dead, and Night of the Living Dead. While zombies are a serious topic, this documentary (or, mockumentary) is a comical documentary which will make parody of zombies, and show how ridiculous zombies can be. Inspired by the above film, this project intends to combine the genius minds of Matt Cronin and Ryan Boye, to create a movie which contains all the same fantastic editing as a zombie film- with grungy scenes and heavy makeup and photo shopping, and combine it with copious amounts of comic relief, to form something that is sure to be a crowd pleaser. The format of the project is a single documentary video, approximately five to ten minutes in length, filmed on DV tape, and edited in final cut. The purpose of this story is to, through comedy and good editing, tell a captivating story about survival in a zombie filled world. As with previous video projects in this visual language class, this documentary will make good use of the variety shots. From close up interviews to long shots of live reenactments you can expect an exciting and captivating narrative.

This is the same video as before, hosted on Vimeo this time. It was done for a project in class titled “3 minutes of my life”

THE SECOND GREATEST VIDEO EVER MADE. SECOND ONLY TO THE NEXT VIDEO I WILL BE MAKING.

This is a mockup storyboard for this week’s assignment which is “3minutes of my life”. The Story is centered around me, who is dressed like a ridiculous looking version of link (from the legend of zelda games). It cuts to me in an interview, and then shows shots of me acting out my everday life as this character, and then cuts back to the interview.

I’m still sort of working out how it’s going to look, more info soon.

So it turned out that I ended up changing my artist book last minute. I decided to change my concept completely and turn my artist book into something themed around the concept of texting. The whole book is accordion bound, and opens upward, with each page being approximately 160 characters. It reads really fast.

For my visual book project, I want my theme to be space. I had thrown around a couple of ideas, shown above, but the one I am most excited about is my “You are Here” concept. Similar to what you might see in the Science Museum or on some NOVA TV special, for my artist book I want to take the reader from their cozy home on earth to the furthest reaches of known space. I think I’ll cover basic facts, like the number of stars a given distance from each in each page for example.

If my book is bound accordion style, the reader will be able to compare them all side by side which should look pretty cool. Most if not all of this work will be done digitally (i hope) using photoshop and NASA photos.

This week we had to tell a story in 5 frames for class. See if you can figure out what’s going on.
